What is ‘SEF’ ?
Sustainable Education Foundation, simply known as SEF, is a not-for-profit organisation which works towards uplifting the education system in Sri Lanka. SEF was established around one and half years ago with the perspective of looking after the future of education. SEF was formed with a small number of individuals and today it has been transformed into a massive student driven community with members from all the Universities in Sri Lanka.
Foundation’s core objective is to make the Sri Lankan education system the most effective and the most dynamic education system in the world through the process of empowering students, education institutes and education as a whole in Sri Lanka. To achieve this goal, SEF has initiated various kinds of programs, such as OneLive, Mentor Programs and Outreach programs for schools and Universities.
What is ‘OneLive’ ?
‘OneLive’ is one of the proud initiatives by SEF. The program was started parallel to the initiation of the foundation and now it has become a popular source of knowledge among the young Sri Lankans. OneLive is an interactive webinar series done every weekend, through the SEF Facebook page. To conduct these sessions, SEF will be joined by experts in different fields from all around the globe. One of the main goals of OneLive is to connect Sri Lankans who are spread across the world to a single platform, where they can share their knowledge to budding Sri Lankan students. OneLive also promotes one of the core values of SEF, which is to provide quality educational content to everyone. Since OneLive is open for everyone and can be easily accessed over the internet, it gives everyone a fair chance to interact with masters in their fields.
OneLive sessions will vary from topics such as technology, astronomy, entrepreneurship, Innovation, and many more. SEF, makes OneLive an opportunity, to show the world, that social media can be used for a worthwhile cause. As a matter of fact, they are making a bigger impact compared to traditional educational methods, as social media gives them the exposure to the crowd quite easily.
Why join ‘OneLive’?
If you are an enthusiast, who is keen on acquiring the latest knowledge, interacting with the masters in their respective fields and wanting some inspiration for your personal goals, OneLive is the perfect program for you.
OneLive gives the opportunity for viewers and speakers to join in from anywhere in the world. Viewers have the luxury of tuning in to their favourite program on weekends for free via Facebook . Speakers have the flexibility of conducting sessions to a large crowd, irrespective of where they are at the moment.
Some participants at real audiences tend to be passive listeners due to various reasons. But the live question and answer segment of ‘OneLive’ gives viewer the chance to ask questions just simply posting them in the live video. This promotes active engagement with the speaker and the viewer, leading to a more meaningful learning experience. One of the best features of OneLive is that, by any chance if you miss the live session, you can still view it later through the SEF Facebook page or the SEF Youtube channel.
